Last week Jamie (mechanic at Tokyo Fixed/Kinoko) was hit by a car and knocked unconscious. As he was on the ground with his lights out some fuckwit stole his bike!!! I will never cease to be amazed by the scumbags that walk this earth.

There are a lot things wrong with your typical road cyclist, for a start most of them are absolutely useless at cycling and this is because they don’t particularly like cycling, they like bikes and buying bikes and buying lighter bits to go on their bikes.

The world of road cycling revolves around idiots spending money on endless amounts of grossly over priced paraphernalia because they are physically and mentally weak, they over compensate for their lack of technique and skill with carbon, titanium and thin pastel pink stripes.

This Rouleur Box is the very epitome of everything that is wired wrongly inside the shrivelled brain of road cyclists all around the world. It is made of ‘high quality natural bookcloth’ features ‘Italian viscose paper’ and costs £50, FIFTY FUCKING POUNDS for a box file.

Gordon Bennett! The fixed gear thing seems to be going through a bit of a lull, would you agree?

We all knew it would only be a matter of time before the massively over inflated bubble broke and I think it’s finally got at least a slow puncture.

The days of alleycats seem to be over, hill bombing videos are few and far between, new product is thin on the ground; the only thing that is really booming is fixed freestyle, on the internet at least.

The real indication that the boom is at its tail end is that I’ve been seeing a few new fixed riders around Swansea, the town that gets everything when it’s going out of fashion in the big cities. There have been so few riders here that there is literally no scene, there are less than 10 people who ride fixed and are part of ‘the (wider) scene’ that we know of.

How is it for you? Are you bored of all the blogs? Have all your local hispters found something else to do yet? Do you love riding fixed as much as you did a couple of years back?

I spotted this radical mountain bike in town today. I assume it’s a prototype because if it was widely available EVERYONE would be riding  a ‘TURBOBOOSTER 69′!

The European stock of the black and grey ones has been super tight and that is the first time I’ve seen them in white, maybe they are an addition to the range to keep up with the demand? They aren’t in the Winter 11 or spring 12 DVS catalogues. Interesting.
