The Foot Down

I have been a very silly boy, when I discovered the DVS Keirin Pack shoes the other week I didn’t look through the whole catalogue, today I found these t-shirts which are bangin’. They have the NJS knockoff logo on the front and the Keirin racer number on the back shoulder and arm. This was actually gonna be the next Foot Down t-shirt range but it looks like I was beaten to it, never mind hey. They’ll be available spring 2011.

Here are the spring 2011 Keo Curry signature colourway (I use that term just because other people use it, I think it’s stoopid) of the Milan CT Mid. Out with the ToeKeo and in with the KeoRock. Not as exciting as the Keirin Pack.

It appears that DVS is sticking by us fixed gear riders well into next year with the super cool Keirin Pack. The Convict SP KRN shoe will be available in 9 colours from spring 2011.

I remember when DVS first came on the scene waaaaaaay back in the 90’s, they caused quite a stir in the skate scene. I first saw them in Radlands and we were all amazed by the elasticated tongue straps cause that meant we could make our shoes extra wide without them falling off all the time, they are on every skate shoe these days and I dunno if the tongue straps were around before DVS but that was the first time us guys had seen them. I love that they’re backing the fixed gear scene now and not just with the odd token bandwagon shoe either but with the Keirin shoe from last year, the great collab with Cadence, the Keo Curry signatures and now this Keirin Pack.

This whole pack is killer, there’s a colour for everyone in here and a nice slim toe perfect for riding, I haven’t seen them in the flesh* yet so I can’t comment on anything else but I’m gonna remedy that asap and will report back. *There’s no flesh in these puppies, they are all canvas, whooooooop! In support of the Cadence X DVS shoe shipping this June, DVS and Cadence have partnered up on a global racing event designed to bring out the world’s strongest cyclists. With 12 major race events held in 12 major cities around the world, Fast Forward is designed to draw the global cycling community together and shed light on some of the best underground riders. Winners from each race will have the opportunity to compete in the prestigious final race, Fast Friday in San Francisco. To help promote the event, DVS has created a web site highlighting the details and sponsor information for each global race.

Well look what I have here! The Fall 2010 DVS x Cadence shoes. They come in a low and a mid top and are made of waxed canvas which makes them super water resistant, the tongue on the mid is attached to the upper so that should stop even the most pesky of raindrops. The low tops have a load of suede on them but after a thorough inspection I could not find any on the mid top so fingers crossed they are free from animal glues too and vegan, I’ll find out.

Again they have really hard soles and a nice slim silhouette perfect for riding, they are also very light weight. Word is that these are going to retail for about 50-odd quid which is just crazy but awesome. There are also 2 tees and a killer hoody available but not to the UK which kinda sucks but such is life. Available around October.

Thanks sooooo much to everyone that has bought a t-shirt since they were released, we have sold way more than we expected to and ran out of tees within a couple of days so we ordered more, printed them then run out again so now we have had to order another load. We didn’t ride a single evening last week cause we were printing which kinda sucks because the weather was nice but it’s all good. Just over half of the orders were sent out yesterday, most others are printed now and ready to go in a couple of days when we finish printing the newest lot, basically if you have ordered already then we will send it out this week. All non-UK orders will probably be delayed a bit because of the volcano but that is obviously well out of our hands.

The first 25 orders will receive a package much like the one below (though not necessarily exactly the same). Big thanks to everyone that donated stickers: Moore Large for the Knog packs, Ison Distribution for the cool Gusset and Identity sheets, Urban Hunter for their own & Fabric Horse and Revival Distribution for the DVS Cadence Forever Forward ones which I got ages ago but saved for a special occasion like this. I’d also like to thank myself for cutting, folding and laminating the 25 numbered, coloured spoke cards which will never be repeated, I haven’t even got one and Owen for overcoming all the printing problems and not exploding.

If you weren’t in the first 25 then you will still find some stickers in with your tee, the earlier your order came in the more goodies you will get.

We will probably order a limited number of tees after all these have gone out and when they go they will be gone until we fancy printing them again, or maybe we will keep constant stock, fuck knows what we’ll do, that’s just how we roll.

Again, thanks for ordering and being patient as we have been trying to keep up, we are just two dudes with full time jobs and no time to ride, pah!

The new DVS / Cadence Milan CTC collab shoe is now available to pre-order at Nucleus Online which is where I work as a photographer/web monkey kind of thing. We have only ordered the black and the grey but if y’all are really into the yellow hit up the comments and I’ll see what I can do. You can order them now for £69.99 and as soon as they arrive at the shop I will personally ship them out to you with some stickers and a nice Foot Down spoke card.

So, I managed to get hands on with the new DVS / Cadence Milan CTC collab shoe yesterday. They have a super tough sole and some snazzy loops on the tongue that you can put your laces under at the point where your clips rub which is kinda cool. They have a really nice shape, they are slimmer than I had thought they looked in pictures, clearly I forgot to take a photo from above so you’ll just have to take my word for it. They’ll be available in the UK around late July early August. I won’t be getting a pair cause they are suede to the max and I’m a vegan but I spotted a right lovely pair of grey Gavin’s that have got my name all over them! I got a glimpse of the two t-shirts too, the skid one is cool, not too fussed on the splodgy pattern thing, it’s kind of like a early 90′s Manchester album cover or something. UPDATE: They are going to cost around the £65 mark, I was expecting them to be crazy priced but clearly not. You’ll be able to pre-order them from the skate shop I work in VERY soon…
