Le Tour de France 2012 in Pictures

Le Tour de France 2012 wasn’t anywhere near as exciting as 2011 but it was still full of excitement, controversy and firsts. Team Sky took the race between it’s teeth right from the off and like a British Bulldog it just wouldn’t let go. Here are a few photos that cover ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that happened this year…

bradley wiggins tour de france 2012 yellow jersey

Bradley Wiggins (yes, I did interview the winner of Le Tour de France once!) is the first British rider to win the worlds greatest sporting event. He was in yellow for the majority of the race, in every major newspaper all over the world, became a household name in the UK and publicly dropped the C-BOMB at least three times whilst all this was going down, what a guy!

thomas voeckler king of the mountains 2012

Thomas Voeckler is the man who inspired me to get a road bike and his two stage wins this year are the only ones I’ve saved on my TiVo box. His old school style, open jersey, no earpiece and sheer amount of wacky faces make him the raddest man on a bike. He always loves winning stages, he doesn’t go on about his team and this that and the other he just can’t stop smiling. I love it.

peter sagan forest gump

Peter Sagan has the fun between his legs. He was great this year, his film charades as he crossed the line were awesome but his no-handed wheelie was the shit. I look forward to following him for years to come, he’s going to be a big name. Also, just look how excited he gets after he meets a young lady, he’s like a schoolboy at a disco.

frank schleck doping 2012

Frank Schleck is boring, so is his brother. Maybe that’s why he’s been smoking doobies in the team bus, to try and appear cooler and more interesting. What a complete and utter douchebag. The pair of them are like damp rags, if he’s this useless on drugs imagine how wack he’d be off them, sheesh!

cadel evans league of gentlemen

Cadel Evans just couldn’t keep his eyes on the prize this year. I can only assume that his mind was pre-occupied with concerns about strangers in his local shop for local people back in Oz.

So, there we go, that’s the entire Tour de France 2012 summed up in a few pictures, next year you won’t need to bother wasting 3 weeks of your life watching it and being “Inspired by Aspire”, just wait until the Monday after it finishes and I’ll put up an in depth, insightful post like this one again. Now get on your bikes and ride!
