MadeGood Online Bicycle Repair Manual

When I first got my road bike I planned on stripping it down and rebuilding it to learn about all the parts, of course I never bothered and to this day I still refer to all the bits as ‘doodahs’ because I don’t know what they’re called. I’m a bit spoiled working in a bike shop because I just get Craig, our mechanic, to fix any problems I’ve got…
…If you haven’t got your own personal mechanic and you are getting into road riding from a fixed gear background then you’ll need all the help you can get to maintain and fix your road bike because there are lot of bits and bobs on those things! The first time I took my chain off to clean it I didn’t think about putting it back on and when I came to do it I realised I had absolutely no idea how to properly thread it through the ‘back doodah’ (derailleur) and had to follow a really REALLY bad tutorial on YouTube.
MadeGood is a new online resource for people like me and you and features very well produced instructional videos, nice photos and simple text to guide us through bike maintenance tasks that we may usually get a mechanic to do for us. MadeGood is a not for profit charitable organisation and I’m looking forward to seeing the site grow into a huge database, which I’m sure it will.
