Collarbone Plate Removal

collarbone plate removal operation

Tomorrow I am having the surgical plate removed from my collarbone.

It’s been in there about two and half years but as you can see it’s not exactly flush to the bone and causes me quite a bit of discomfort.

This operation signals the beginning of the end (hopefully!) of years of trips to the hospital, chiropractors, acupuncture, musculoskeletal specialists, osteopaths and will draw the curtains on my comp claim. At long last!

Have you had a plate removed? What’s it like? Tell me it’s relatively pain free and that I’ll be back on the bike in no time…

I had my own plate removed two weeks ago (they took my elbow plates and screws away while they were at it).  I’ve never felt so good, really simple op – no pain afterwards, back on the rollers four days later, back on the bike 10 days after. All dressings off after 5days.  email me if you want to know more richard @ lbrc.org
