A Morning Rhydypandy Hill Climb

Somehow the other night I ended up on the Swansea Wheelers website, I dunno how I got there but I did. I’m not sure what I think about the whole cycle club thing, it’s certainly not for me at this time but I like the idea of regular as clockwork club runs.
In their list of events I noticed that they run an annual hill climb in October just up the road from my house so I have decided that if it’s open to non-members, as it has been in the past, I will enter and destroy them. This morning I rode over to check out ‘the hill’, it’s nothing epic, just 500ft elevation over 2 miles; in fact had I bothered to have breakfast before going over there I probably wouldn’t have even nearly had a heart attack. The fastest time is 7.21 set by a chap named Rohan Davies back in 2000, it took me 10.00 today.
I love climbing hills, I’m going to start nailing this route a few times a week and in October the Clase Cannonball will go down in the history books of Swansea Wheelers, mark my words.
