Fred Perry x Cycling Blank Canvas 2011

I’m all over these new cycling themed shirts from Fred Perry, daaaaaaamn!

I’ve always wanted a Fred Perry but being a poor little scrubber from a council estate we couldn’t even afford a Le Shark polo from Hyper Value over in Llansamlet when I was a kid.

Classic cycling jerseys are proper smart and Fred has done them proud with these four beauties (5 if you include the dreamboat model), the white with championship stripes is my fave but the other three are hot stuff too.

They are 100% cotton pique and available from Fred Perry Laurel Wreath shops and online now. Smart!

“The classic cycling shirt has been standard mod attire since the early 1960’s. Fred Perry is celebrating this link between sport and subculture with a range of Fred Perry Shirts referencing authentic retro-cycling styling details, fit and colour combinations.

The range consists of four cycling shirts in the classic Fred Perry shirt pique all with a zipped down placket. The key piece is the porcelain Winter collar shirt with ‘Champion’ striping across the middle and small, zipped rear pocket. Other styles include the turquoise Winter collar shirt with black and white striped collar and cuffs and small, zipped rear pocket, the orange amber, white and black standard ribbed collar colour blocked shirt with three buttoned large rear pocket and ivy standard ribbed collar shirt with red, yellow and black striped collar and cuffs also with a three buttoned large rear pocket.

The Fred Perry Shirts will sit in our Laurel Wreath shops alongside fifty vintage classic cycling jerseys in merino wool from the 60’s that have been hand picked by the in-house design team.”
