Cycle Show 2010
The new Cinelli Mash sure is shiny
This weekend I went up to that London to check out the Cycle Show. Much like last year the fixed gear offerings were mostly budget ready built completes.
My alarm went off at 5am (yes there is a 5 in the morning too!) and I was up like a lark. I got a lift to Milton Keynes with ‘The Bryer Twins’, Matt was working at a snowboard show there so off I shot to the train station for the 30 minute journey to Euston. Like most men in London on their own I headed straight to Soho, both Tokyo Fixed Gear and Beetroot didn’t open for another 20 minutes so I took my body in my own hands and hung around the streets, fending off pimps and prostitutes on every corner was no problem for me, I am as hard as nails. At 11am I bought my vegan chocolate cake for the show and had a quick look around TFG, the new T-Level bags they have there are really decent and not mad expensive like most of the other soft goods in the shop.
With just my iPhone to guide me I headed off to the show, it soon became very clear that I was completely incapable of directing myself anywhere in London by bike even with the Maps app. I eventually got to Earls Court having stopped off at Boots to buy some pop and deodourant (London sure is dirty) on the way, I locked up and in I went. There wasn’t much exciting for the more discerning ‘fixed gear fanatic’, in fact I didn’t find a single WOW product at all. Yeah there were a few nice bits and pieces but it was mostly just budget fixies produced to supply the demand for an affordable fashion accessory…
This Peugeot was pretty nice, shame about the bars!
SE Bikes hubs and cranks
The SE Hubs seem good, I like the shield that covers the bearings
The best of the Bianchi offerings
The finish on this wasn’t great, like the current seasons ones
“These are a nice colour” said a woman. That’s about all there is to say about them
I thought this was cool at the time but it’s a bit weak

It has an interesting ‘ass’
I was loving the WyndyMilla stand
I’m really into the branding on these bikes!

A chap taking the Power Balance bracelet test, stay tuned for a review cause I’ve been using one…
Cinelli keeping it ghostly
Am I the only one that is freaked out by carbon fiber?
I got a bit bored and left the show at 3pm to go to 14BikeCo, more on that in another post. This ‘report’ was a bit rubbish, sorry. I suggest you go and look at the post from last year which is much better.
