Animal Surf Fixie, Ching! Ching!

By now you’ll know how much I like to bring you the very latest news in the world of fixed gear bikes. I especially love to be able to share with you the most newest surf/fixie collaborations. A couple of months back it was O’neill with their awesome ‘fixy’ range, now Animal is at it too. I am a chap who likes a good laugh so when I found the 2011 Animal catalogue on the counter in work today I just had to have a look through, I was delighted to find the ‘Life Behind Bars’ tee! Not only does it attempt to cash in on the fad (which will probably be on it’s way out in a year) but it gets the whole thing, like, so wrong.

No offence to all y’all that run a front brake, it’s fine to fear for your life, but the true artistic beauty of a track bike is in the lack of all that messy stuff. I’m guessing that the hip young designer took his design to the boss who then demanded that he fit a brake to his illustration to avoid being taken to court when some lame surfer wannabe claims that he was influenced to ride brakeless by ‘the t-shirt’. Where there’s blame there’s a claim and bandwagons are lame.
